A SUICIDAL man was rescued from Carrington Bridge in Worcester this morning.
Police found the male on the wrong side of the barrier but were able to talk him back to safety.
The man was checked over by West Midlands Ambulance Service staff before being allowed to go home.
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew were on standby at the scene, but the firefighters were not required to assist with the operation.
The incident happened at about 2am and was reported to West Mercia Police by a concerned member of the public.
Police closed the road bridge for about an hour while officers secured a "safe conclusion" to the matter.
Another suicidal missing person in Worcester was also located by police this morning and taken into care.
Officers posted details of the incidents on social media, tweeting from @SWorcsCops that it was "a busy night so far" with "two suicidal missing persons located and taken in for care".
They later added: "Police have brought a suicidal male off a bridge in #Worcester assisted by @HWFire and @OFFICIALWMAS. Safe conclusion. Now in care."
