A MEDIEVAL tradition is set to be revived in Leominster this month.

For centuries during the medieval period, a lively market was held in honour of St Edfrith’s feast day and the town council is now reintroducing this traditional event.

There will be stalls, food sellers and fun in the Corn Square between 10am and 3pm on Saturday October 25.

An Edfrith feast day lecture with free entry, titled 'Medieval Pilgrims: A window on their world', will be held on Monday October 26 at 7.30pm at the Priory Church.

Other events taking place include a practical workshop to learn real medieval pilgrim songs on Tuesday October 20 between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. It will take place at Weobley Methodist Church and costs £3.50. Book is available by calling 01544 319138.

From 12pm on Sunday October 25, there will be an Edfrith Pilgrimage from Kingsland to Leominster. Tickets can be bought from the Leominster TIC on 01568 616460.

On the same day, at 4.30pm at Leominster Priory there will be an evensong.
