TWO brothers have admitted being armed with a gun and a baseball bat when they burst into a man's home in Newent with intent to cause him serious harm on Christmas Day 2015.

Lee Davies, 28, of The Tythings, Newent, and Matthew Davies, 39, of Glebe Road both pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary of a house in Culver Street on with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm to Stuart Dalby.

The charge refers to them being armed with a Beretta air pistol and a baseball bat.

Matthew Davies is also due for sentence for a separate offence of common assault, the court heard.

The judge, Recorder Richard Smith QC, remanded both men in custody for pre-sentence reports and told them they will be sentenced on March 14.
