A MAN who spent his entire working life in the butchery trade returned to the occupation for one morning.
Henry Murphy, 88, is a resident at Charnwood Country Residence care home in Much Dewchurch but often tells staff about his working life which saw him become national manager with the Co-op butcher chain.
To give him a chance of revisiting his former profession, Charnwood arranged for him to spend time with Herefordshire Meats on the city's Beech Business Park.
"We are people-centred and realise experiences like this are vital," said Bev Powell from Charnwood.
"People's life history is so important and this is why we encourage our residents out into the community to take part in experiences such as this."
Mr Murphy said he enjoyed his visit.
"It was wonderful," he said. "The quality of meat there is exceptional. I'd take them all on without even giving them an interview."
