STUDENTS across Malvern and Ledbury area have been celebrating strong results in this year's GCSE exams.

At Dyson Perrins, 63 per cent gained A*-C grades in English and maths.

Head Stuart Wetson said: "I am very proud of what our students have achieved. These outstanding results are just reward for their dedication and excellent work ethic."

At the Chase, 71 per cent of students achieved five A*-C grades and 63 per cent five A*-C with English and maths.

Head Richard Jacobs said: “A good outcome for the school and a great outcome for each and every student who found the resilience to achieve their personal goals and continue that lifelong journey of securing a happy and successful life.”

At Hanley Castle, 70 per cent of students gained five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and maths, more than 30 per cent of all grades were at A* or A and 10 per cent of all grades were at A*.

Head Lindsey Cooke said: “We are all so excited and pleased for this wonderful group of students. They are enormously talented and enormously hard-working"

Malvern College students this year equalled the college’s best ever results. Head Antony Clark said: “Congratulations to all of our pupils on their excellent results, we are very proud of them."

At Queen Elizabeth Humanities College, Bromyard, the number of students attaining English and mathematics at C grade or higher increased to 49 per cent. Head Martin Farmer said: “I am pleased that we have shown significant improvement in student achievement whilst recognising we are working towards even greater success in the future.”

Students at Bredon School near Tewkesbury hit a 59.8 per cent pass rate for grades A* - C in five subjects or more.

Head David Ward said, “This is a fantastic set of results with many of our students exceeding their predicted grades. My congratulations to each student and our dedicated supportive teaching staff."

John Masefield High School students celebrated strong results, with 70 per cent getting five or more A*-C.

Head Andy Evans: “I am proud of the results of every student. I am delighted that so many students have obtained the grades required to pursue their ambitions."

Girls at Malvern St James celebrated another year of outstanding performances, with a rise in the number of top grades awarded.

Head Olivera Raraty said: "This is an outstanding set of results for our very talented girls and I am delighted for both them and our dedicated staff. This demonstrates considerable personal achievement across a range of subjects and testifies to their hard work, focus and determination."

Newent Community School head said: "We are delighted for our Year 11 students who are picking up a great set of GCSE result. They show a fourth consecutive year of strong improvement and rank amongst the very best the school has ever achieved.
