TOM Trigg scooped a double accolade at Ledbury Town Football Club’s presentation evening for the 2022/23 footballing season.
Trigg picked up both the first team’s Players’ Player prize and a joint Manager’s Award for the senior squad with midfielder Ben Febery.
Town boss Ian Merrick praised the fantastic dedication, discipline and commitment shown by the ever-reliable defender, always diligently controlling the Ledbury back-line and offering great words of support and encouragement to his team-mates as his solid defending throughout the season earned him no fewer than ten man of the match titles.
A well-attended celebration at the New Street clubhouse saw prolific striker Tom Boyle receive the top goalscorer accolade from Andrew Winstone, representing Bloor Homes who have been the main sponsors of Ledbury Town FC this season.
And finally, Jacob Cluetit received the Young Player of the Season award. Clueit played throughout the Reserve team's campaign and even made a couple of very promising appearances for the club’s senior outfit.
Although falling at the final hurdle in terms of claiming the Herefordshire League Premier Division title, Merrick and club chairman Pete Boyle could not speak highly enough of the sheer effort and determination shown by their first string.
As well as acquiring the Herefordshire FA Charity Bowl silverware for the second time in four years, Town can boast a hugely impressive 23 league victories with just three losses this season, winning every home league game and scoring just over fifty goals in total at their historic ground.
Merrick had much praise for his co-management team of Scott Roberts, Sam Dixon and Carl Wildig for all of their help and guidance in achieving both the league runners-up spot for a second consecutive season and the Charity Bowl prize for the senior side.
Boyle also thanked club volunteers Jock and Jill Boyle, Diane Jones and Deb Oliver for all their hard work behind the bar and providing further hospitality on match days.
Boyle and Merrick concluded the presentation by acknowledging the tremendous level of support the club has enjoyed both at home and away this season, in particular thanking staunch followers Paul and Julie Trigg, Joe Gladwin and Tim Smith for always being there cheering the first team on from the sidelines.
