A LEDBURY-based theatre company is preparing to host its third community musical at the Malvern Theatre later this year.
Our Star Theatre Company is a production touring theatre company who tour shows around the UK.
Each year it runs a community musical put together by its team of theatre professionals but cast members are local talent of all ages.
This provides an opportunity to people from the local community to perform at a high standard and create something that they can be proud of.
The company's latest showing will be Fiddler on the Roof, which comes off the back of their two successful productions at Ledbury's Market Theatre with Oliver and Whistle Down The Wind.
This latest offering will take place at Malvern Theatres but rehearsals will be still be held in Ledbury.
"It's a community musical that is open to anyone to audition from the local area," said Our Star Theatre Company director Ben Mowbray.
"We are a production touring company based in Ledbury and we have previously done two musicals.
"We have grown in popularity and demand so we approached Malvern Theatres about holding our latest production there - and they kindly said yes.
"The performers we work with are all local and they work with a professional team."
Auditions for the production took place last weekend (February 24 and February 25) with the full cast to be announced in the coming days.
Mr Mowbray revealed that rehearsals would begin in May right through to the beginning of the performance on July 24-27.
"Both of our previous two musicals Oliver in 2019 and Whistle Down the Wind in 2022 were both sell outs," he said.
"We decided to look for a bigger venue for our latest show as we have been in high demand.
"We had a brilliant time at both previous productions and it was great to see young people involved progress from rehearsals to the show growing in confidence and ability.
"Some of our performers involved in community shows have actually gone on to be a part of professional touring shows.
"We recently held a production at Malvern Theatre so it's really nice to build on our relationship with them - so we are very excited."
