LUDLOW Castle has been used as a film set in a new TV show starring comedian Noel Fielding.
The show, called The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, can be watched on Apple TV and stars famous faces like the Mighty Boosh actor and Great British Bake Off host Fielding, along with comics Joe Wilkinson, Marc Wootton, Hugh Bonneville and more.
It is based on the real-life rogue highwayman Dick Turpin, and includes a scene in Ludlow Castle.
Ludlow Castle shared a clip of the scene on social media, writing: "The eagle-eyed among you will have recognised Ludlow Castle in the latest hit TV show, featuring a star-studded cast. Watch it now, streaming on Apple TV!"
The castle has previously been featured in the film Catherine Called Birdy and the BBC's popular series the Princes in the Tower.
Award-winning online history channel History Hit has also filmed at the castle recently.
Powis Estates, the organisation responsible for the castle, says: "The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin from Apple TV was commissioned for a pilot episode at Ludlow Castle, for a raucous comedy adventure series.
"Ludlow Castle makes an ideal filming location. Situated in the heart of the bustling market town of Ludlow, the castle's earliest surviving remains can be dated back to the 11th century, so grand it was deemed fit to house numerous royal family members throughout the 1400s and 1500s. It was eventually bought by the Earl of Powis in 1811.
"Today, the castle's rich history and style have continued to attract visitors and filming productions."
Apple TV describes the show as a reimagining of the story of Dick Turpin, a well-known historical villain, with the character having more comedic value and flamboyant style rather than a focus on his crimes.
The scene that includes Ludlow Castle shows Dick Turpin about to be hanged, with a public hanging being held in the castle grounds.
This is in the first episode of the series, which has now been aired in full and includes a total of six episodes.
It can be watched online via Apple TV.
