ROYAL connections to the Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust take centre stage in nostalgia this week.

Prince Charles, now King, is pictured trying to keep dry in the rain with Peter Scott - the founder of Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

The Duke and Duchess of Kent are pictured with Sir Peter Scott in 1973 and the late Queen is seen opening the Research Centre at Slimbridge with her husband Prince Philip in 1966.

All of these wonderful photographs are taken from David Ireland's Gazette Photographs from the past on Facebook.
