HEREFORD United will be starting the new season – but a question mark still remains over their future after yesterday’s High Court hearing.

Registrar Jones adjourned the case until September 1, after he was told the club was exploring proposals for a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), which it is anticipated would see creditors paid 100 pence in the pound over a three-year period.

He said he would adjourn the case in order ‘to see what happens’ at a meeting currently scheduled to take place on August 15.

Meanwhile, The Bulls will be playing in the Southern League Premier Division and the transfer embargo on the club will be lifted.

League chairman Ken Tur-ner said: “Hereford have transferred funds to all known football creditors, apart from a few who have not, as yet, notified officials of their required details.

“Consequently, subject to receiving confirmation of receipt of all the amounts transferred and also subject to any actions taken by other authorities outside the control of the league, Hereford United will remain in the Southern League.”
