LEDBURY Town Reserves returned to the top of The Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division One.

Now the town club’s top team after the first XI’s withdrawal from the West Midlands League, they beat Wellington Colts 4-0 at New Street.

Prolific striker Jamie Welch led the way after netting in the 12th minute.

Phil Preedy and Roly Welch’s high-fliers should have put away at least another two or three goals by half-time.

The final score was only extended thanks to young substitutes Tom Skittery and Scott Brown.

Teenage keeper Elliot Watts made an early block before Jamie Welch headed in Martin Loveridge’s corner.

Fellow striker Jamie Gladwin finally scored on 68 minutes after firing home a rebound. Skittery swooped in the 85th minute and Brown found the top corner to complete the scoring.

The reserves visit Kingstone Harriers in the Herefordshire FA’s Burghill Cup second round tomorrow (2pm).

Meanwhile, Ledbury Colts lost 3-2 to Herefordshire League Division Three leaders Belmont Wanderers with Zeki Koral bagging a brace.
