WORCESTER Warriors forward Ted Hill has been named in the starting line-up for England under 18s series opener against France tomorrow.

The Worcester Sixth Form College student, who hails from Malvern, has flown out to South Africa with the team to play the fixture before facing South Africa Schools A on Tuesday and South Africa Schools on Saturday, August 20.

Bromsgrove School pupil Henry Walker, who plays for Gloucester, is among the replacements.

Forwards coach Peter Walton is expecting a physical test from France but he says the aim is to develop the squad over the next fortnight.

“France will test our physicality especially through the forwards,” Walton said.

“They’re also pretty unpredictable which makes the game an excellent test for the players, we played them once this year which was our only defeat of the season and the players are keen to change the result.

“The whole tour is about developing the players through the three games and we are focussing on improving our performances from the end of last season.”
